If you can make ‘creation’ as natural as breathing, it is not because intention is absent; it is because all intention has already dissolved into the breath.

LIFE NOTE

Low Tide

Late in the afternoon, near the new bridge over the Tagus, the falling tide gradually reveals the wet mudflats. A seabird walks quietly along; the bustle retreats with the tide, leaving calm behind.

In the nearby park, a group of children are playing; along the embankment, a row of parents sit waiting.

The tide is going out on the Tagus, and a seabird is looking for food.

Sun · Decrease

Classic text · interpretive translation
Decrease: with sincerity, great good fortune and no blame. Constancy is possible; it is favourable to have somewhere to go. — Zhou Yi · Sun, Judgment

Sun makes the relationship between decrease and increase visible. Water recedes and the bird finds feeding ground; one change creates different conditions for different lives.

The scene invites asking what decreased, and for whom. Not every loss brings a benefit; locating the viewpoint helps reveal what actually changed.

Reading in briefIncrease and decrease mean different things from different positions.

of notes

Hello, I’m Wang Sanxiong — Sam 🤝

The book’s epigraph is my motto, and the starting point for how I understand life, restaurants, and entrepreneurship.

I am a Chinese immigrant living in Portugal, originally from Qingtian, Zhejiang, and a restaurant owner. I love architecture and the history behind it; I love the I Ching, and use Eastern wisdom to interpret the stories hidden behind history.

A battle for small and medium-sized restaurants to reclaim their own customer channels;
The second half of life should be more exciting than the first — that is only reasonable;

【XIAOXIONG®】

XIAOXIONG®; it is not an advertisement in this book. It is proof that, in the second half of life, I am still willing to change.
