If you can make ‘creation’ as natural as breathing, it is not because intention is absent; it is because all intention has already dissolved into the breath.

Section IV — Italy

The road through Milan and Rome was tied to people as much as to places. Among them was Old Liu, whose choices and temperament made the immigrant world feel both close and unpredictable.

We travelled, talked about business, and watched one another make decisions under pressure. Friendship abroad is often built quickly because people share the same distance from home; it can also be tested quickly when interests, pride, and survival pull in different directions.

Italy remained in memory not as a postcard, but as a chapter about trust: how it begins, how it changes, and what remains after people take separate roads.

The Traveller

The traveller: small success. Constancy brings the traveller good fortune. — Zhou Yi · Lü, Judgment

Lü keeps the visitor’s position concrete. Two glasses of wine hold friendship after work; a visit approaches a life while seeing only part of it.

The author questions the measure implicit in his phrase about brothers. Closeness can include limits: a friend has work and a future of his own, without always having to fulfil a visitor’s expectations.

Reading in briefFriendship accommodates closeness and limits.

Hello, I’m Wang Sanxiong — Sam 🤝

The book’s epigraph is my motto, and the starting point for how I understand life, restaurants, and entrepreneurship.

I am a Chinese immigrant living in Portugal, originally from Qingtian, Zhejiang, and a restaurant owner. I love architecture and the history behind it; I love the I Ching, and use Eastern wisdom to interpret the stories hidden behind history.

A battle for small and medium-sized restaurants to reclaim their own customer channels;
The second half of life should be more exciting than the first — that is only reasonable;

【XIAOXIONG®】

XIAOXIONG®; it is not an advertisement in this book. It is proof that, in the second half of life, I am still willing to change.
